The mission of the Heart Gallery of Sacramento is to improve the lives of children in foster care by promoting permanency and adoption primarily through a collection of portraits of children waiting for adoption or guardianship in Sacramento County. The portraits, which help to capture the spirit and personality of each child, are displayed within our community. We are an all-volunteer community organization combining the art of photography with a passion for recruiting permanent homes to find “Forever Families” for children. Our mission is accomplished by raising awareness in our community, recruiting permanent and adoptive families.
Once again, we’re participating in the Big Day of Giving, scheduled this year for May 7, 2020.
Currently, a global, novel virus keeps us contained in our homes and is already reorienting our relationship to community, families, even to each other.
This has been especially devastating for children and youth in foster care. Our mission is unchanged. It is to work with Sacramento County Child Protective Services social workers to identify and obtain permission to photograph children and youth, teens and tweens, brothers and sisters who cannot return home… to find that willing family who will provide for their future safety, security and stability.
Would you be willing to make a Big Day of Giving donation of $25, $50, $100 or whatever you can afford to help us meet our goal to share these moving images of the children and youth waiting for a forever home?
We simply can’t do it without you. Your support will make a real, lasting impact in the lives of many who are waiting.

Funding for the Heart Gallery of Sacramento comes entirely from private donors or community sponsors. All donations are tax deductible.
Each year, we celebrate you… our partners, volunteers and friends… those who continue to generously invest in our mission … permanency for all children.
Portraits of the children help to capture the spirit and personality of each child and are displayed within our community to promote permanency and adoption.
